CMC Instructional Resources

Materials and Resources    |   Policies and Procedures    |    Hours

Technology resources include one Apple OS X student workstation and wireless laptops that are provided for academic purposes only within the CMC. Students may access the internet on these computers, work on multimedia projects or use programs such as Microsoft Office, iWorks, i-Life, Inspiration, Kidspiration, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, or Macromedia Dreamweaver, and other multimedia software. A flatbed color scanner is also available, and black/white and color laser printers.

Wireless laptops may be reserved for in class instructional use only within the North Court building. A class list must be provided by the instructor in advance since all laptops will be charged to the instructor's account. Reserves must be made two weeks in advance by course instructors to assure equipment is in good working order upon charge (check-out) and to avoid "double-booking". Students are responsible for picking up and returning  the laptops 15 minutes prior to and after class time. When not reserved or being used for classes, wireless laptops may be checked out for use within CMC only.

An Ellison die cut machine is provided for use in preparing course related materials or instructional materials for student teaching. Lamination services are available upon request. Both the laminator or Ellison machine requires training and staff assistance prior to use. A photocopier is also available.

A separate children's literature collection is located in Boatwright Memorial Library for use in children's and young adult literature classes and other related education courses.

These items are provided for use by students, faculty or staff of the Arts & Sciences Department of Education Teacher Preparation and School of Continuing Studies Teacher Licensure Programs, for on-campus academic projects related to these programs with approval by the director of the CMC and/or course instructor.
